• The Gillette Company LLC, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has recalled its Venus Simply3 Disposable razors. According to the company, which is part of Procter & Gamble, a problem during manufacturing resulted in the misalignment of the blades in the razors, posing a higher risk of cuts during normal use. Approximately 87,000 units were involved in the recall. In addition, approximately 2,700 were sold in Canada.
The recall involves Venus Simply3 disposable razors. The razors come in pink, purple, and yellow colors and were sold in two types of packages: a Venus Simply3 Disposable Razor 4-pack and a Daisy 12+1 Venus Simply3 Bonus Pack which included one free Venus Simply3 razor.
Products were sold at food, drug, and mass merchandise stores nationwide from January 2019 through May 2019.
At press time, Gillette said it received one report of a consumer who was cut while using the recalled razor.
In other recall news, Nature’s Truth, Ronkonkoma, NY, recalled its Wintergreen Essential Oil as the bottles are not child resistant as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, posing a poisoning risk if the contents are swallowed.
About 22,100 units were recalled by the US CPSC.
The recalled Nature’s Truth wintergreen 100% pure essential oil comes in a 0.5floz (15ml) glass amber dropper bottle with a black cap and a yellow, pink and green label with Nature’s Truth Aromatherapy Wintergreen 100% Pure Stimulation Essential Oil printed on the front. Product number NT6446, UPC code 840093103130 and lot number 13810, 13985, 14540, 16013, 23517, 28581 or 29929 are printed on the back of the product, according to Nature’s Truth and CPSC.
