Sephora today unveiled the first phase of its new advertising campaign. The advertisements, shot by well known fashion photographer Craig McDean, are striking, close-up photographs that capture the playful application of colorful make up to various features of a woman's face. In addition to being used in advertising, the photographs will be incorporated into Sephora stores, the Sephora.com website, and direct mail, continuing Sephora's unified approach to its marketing efforts. The first advertisements, which were created by advertising company Lloyd (+Co), will appear nationally in September fashion and style magazines, with new ads appearing for the holiday period and Spring 2002.
"This new campaign beautifully captures the Sephora philosophy of freedom, exploration and discovery," said Betsy Olum, senior vice president of marketing, Sephora. "Craig McDean's dramatic photographs, which show women using make up in radical and eye-catching ways, speak to the Sephora customer who loves the ability to play and experiment with Sephora's incredible selection of products. The integrated application of the campaign in all Sephora outlets-store, catalog, internet -reinforces the seamless shopping experience Sephora customers can expect, no matter where they choose to shop."
