Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, Morris Plains, NJ-based division of Pfizer Inc., will acquire the Purellline of instant hand sanitizers from Gojo Industries, Inc., Akron, OH. Under the agreement, Pfizerwill market Purell to consumers through retail channels, such as supermarkets, drug stores andmass merchandisers, meanwhile Gojo and its affiliate, QualPak, LLC, Laurinburg, NC, will marketand sell Purell through its current distribution channels to institutional customers, such asrestaurants, hospitals and schools. QualPak will manufacture Purell for both Pfizer and Gojo.Financial terms were not disclosed.
Executives said with Purell agreement, the No. 1 instant hand sanitizer in the U.S., all partieswill be able to focus strengths and expand the global instant hand sanitizer market significantly.
