Perfumania Marketing reported a decrease of 1.1% to $10.1 million retail sales for January 2005, but executives said comparable store sales were up 1.$ to $9.3 million.
For the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ended Jan. 29, 2005, total sales and comparable store sales increased 3.4% and 2.7% respectively, executives reported. Total fiscal year retail sales increased 1.6% to $201 million and comparable store sales increased 1.8% to $186.3 million.
"We are pleased with our performance through the end of this fiscal year," said Michael W. Katz, president and chief executive officer of E Com Ventures, Inc., Perfumania's owner. He added, "Despite inclement weather during January, our comparable sales and average sales per store were improved."
