Dow Corning Corporation and Lipo Chemicals Inc. have formed a marketing and technical alliance to provide micro-encapsulation delivery system technologies to personal care and household care formulators, a process which offers techniques for combining incompatible materials into a single formulated product, stabilizing and protecting actives within formulations, masking odor, converting liquids to solids, improving flow characteristics and releasing components on demand.
“Delivery system platforms vary dramatically and the choice of the ‘right’ platform relies heavily on the formulator’s application parameters and the expertise of the delivery system provider,” said Leo Kolaitis, global delivery platform manager, Dow Corning Life Sciences division. “To best meet those needs, we are combining the offering and capabilities of silicone chemistries with organic technologies.”
