Kanebo Visualizes Effects Of Facial Moisturizers

May 5, 2008

JAPAN: Kanebo Cosmetics Inc. has developed a system for measuring the moisture of facial skin and displaying that information as a portrait, enabling consumers to immediately learn the effectiveness of skin moisturizing makeup products.

According to a report in Nikkei Weekly, the system measures skin moisture and shows it on a picture of the face, with moist parts of skin shown in red and drier portions depicted in blue. Kanebo Cosmetics plans to use the system in retail stores starting this year, allowing shoppers to visually judge the effectiveness of different moisturizing agents.
