Cargo Debuts Timestrips for Lipgloss Packaging

Cargo’s new feature aims to keep products fresh.
Lipgloss, like food, has an expiration date. Once opened and used, bacteria is introduced to the product. Consequently, the product should be replaced nine months after opening, according to Cargo Cosmetics.

To keep lipgloss fresh, Cargo introduced gloss packaging that incorporates Timestrip technology, a tiny strip embedded in the cap of the gloss to keep track of how long the lipgloss has been open.

According to the company, this “best-before” date has become so important that European Union countries recently launched legislation requiring cosmetics companies to have a Period After Opening (PAO) time frame listed on their products.

Rexam Announces Fifth Annual Foam Challenge

The 5th Annual Rexam Foam Formulation Challenge invites entries for product applications—with special appeal for babies—that can be dispensed with the firm’s EZi one-touch mechanical foamer.

Open to manufacturers, contract packagers, distributors and formulators, the Rexam Foam Formulation Challenge awards a corporate prize. Formulations will be evaluated by an international jury of industry experts.

“In the U.S., and around the world, the market for personal care products for infants continues to grow,” said Casper Kleiman, product manager-foam, Rexam Personal Care. “Segment acceleration is helped by elevated birthrates for women with higher disposable incomes.”

According to Mr. Kleiman, parents continue to seek personal care products for babies that deliver the product gently and efficiently, provide value and are easy to use.Rexam’s patent-protected EZi Foamer is designed for effortless, one-hand operation needed by mothers bathing their active little ones. One squeeze of the EZi bottle creates instant, creamy, rich, soothing foam that cleanses well and rinses quickly.

TricorBraun Customers Win Packaging Awards

TricorBraun was instrumental in designing winning packages in the World Beverage Competition. First Juice-Brand juice beverage received the platinum, best of show prize for the package TricorBraun created for its new alternative drink for youngsters. Tanteo Tequila won the silver, second-place prize for the spirits bottle created with TricorBraun.
