According to new research from Coyle Hospitality Group and WTS International, when it comes to spa treatments, consumers appear to be indulging closer to home.
Coyle Hospitality and WTS surveyed more than 1,300 active spa-goers in September about their buying patterns, spending habits, best spa experiences and other topics regarding spas.
Almost 70% of those surveyed had their most recent spa experience at a location near where they live, while 21% said they were at a hotel for leisure.
The survey also revealed that although spa goers are there for relaxation, a bit of explanation is appreciated; 84% said it is important for therapists to explain products and their benefits during the treatment.
