Beiersdorf has announced three personnel changes, effective over the next several months.
Peter Feld, formerly general manager of Johnson & Johnson GmbH Germany, has been tapped as the new executive board member for Region Europe at Beiersdorf, and Markus Pinger has named the new executive board member for brands and supply chain, a newly created position.
In addition, Pieter Nota, executive board member for brands and chief marketing and innovation officer of Beiersdorf AG, will leave the company on June 30. He is moving on to Philips, where he will be chief executive officer of the consumer lifestyle sector.
Feld, who takes his new post on Sept. 1, worked for Johnson & Johnson for six years and has been the chairman of the management board of Johnson & Johnson GmbH in Düsseldorf since 2007. Before J&J, he was active in executive positions at Procter & Gamble. Prior to Feld’s appointment, the position of executive board member for Region Europe, had been managed by the chairman of the executive board Thomas-B. Quaas on an interim basis.
Pinger, who takes his post July 1, has been a member of Beiersdorf AG’s executive board, and within this time he has successfully brought about a far-reaching, international realignment of the supply chain, the company said. His successor as executive board member responsible for the Americas region, will be named at a later date.
"With the newly created Executive Board function Brands & Supply Chain, we are bundling together all product-related areas, from the creative idea of a product, through its technical development and on to its production, marketing and delivery,” said Quaas. "As a result, we are creating optimal conditions for a fast and effective innovation process without any friction losses. By ensuring product developments from a single source, we will maximize the innovative power of our brands, and Beiersdorf will gain a valuable competitive advantage."
