Food company Heinz—you know, the one with the ketchup—has entered the cleaning category with the launch of Heinz All Natural Cleaning Vinegar. This new vinegar is 20% stronger than traditional distilled white vinegar, making it an optimal formula for safe and effective cleaning throughout the home, according to the Pittsburgh-based company.
The move clearly taps into two trends in the household care sector: the popularity of natural products and thrifty homeowners making their own cleaning products.
“For more than 140 years, people have trusted Heinz to bring them only the very best quality in vinegar for a wide range of uses, from cooking and canning to cleaning and household remedies,” said Jennifer McGurrin, senior brand manager for Heinz Vinegar. “Now we’re happy to offer a formula that’s specially designed for household cleaning, yet is still a safe, all-natural solution.”
The suggested retail price if $3.79 for a one gallon jug of Heinz All Natural Cleaning Vinegar, which the company says is less than three cents per ounce when used as a cleaning solution.
As a multi-purpose cleaner, Heinz Cleaning Vinegar offers a six percent acidity level for an extra cleaning boost to achieve streak-free windows and glassware, shine stainless-steel appliances, and remove tough odors and stubborn laundry stains.
In addition to its many uses as a household cleaner, Heinz All Natural Vinegar is also safe for use in cooking, according to the company.
