Detergent manufacturers are re-emphasizing the importance of keeping single unit dose laundry detergents out of the reach of children in the wake of recent reports about children accidentally ingesting these products.
In addition to making educational materials on safe and proper laundry use widely available to families and caregivers, the American Cleaning Institute says manufacturers are closely examining incident reports and other details associated with reports of accidental ingestions.
The safe and proper use of all detergents and cleaning products is a critical priority for manufacturers.
"Awareness is the key to prevention of injury when using laundry products in the home. Consumers should store these products out of reach and out of sight of children," said Ernie Rosenberg, ACI president & CEO.
