• The Society of Cosmetic Chemists’ education course, “Chemistry and Formulations of Color Cosmetics,” will be held Sept. 12-13 at the Doubletree Newark Airport Hotel in Newark, NJ.
This course will provide an overview of the ingredients and formulating principles used in the development of the various types of color cosmetics. It will also provide the basics of how to select color additives for use in decorative cosmetics from the perspectives of color basics, regulations, stability and color type pulse how to deal with color in terms of color measurement and dispersion.
The instructors are Jane Hollenberg and Edwin Faulkner. Hollenberg has more than 30 years of experience in the cosmetic industry working with fillers, pigments and pigmented products at Coty, Revlon and Rona. Faulkner holds a degree in chemistry from Widener University and has 40 years of experience in the color industry.
