As the USA Luge is returning from last weekend's World Cup event in Sochi, Russia, Pilot Chemical Company revealed that it has signed on as an official supporter of the team. Pilot will provide financial support for the team's athletes as they compete around the world over the next three years, including preparations for the 2014 Games, which will be held in Sochi.
As in the sport of luge, where athletes only succeed in an ice cold environment through skill, practice and the use of technology, Pilot Chemical Company has built its success on its patented ice-cold sulfonation/sulfation technology, which uses an extremely low temperature reaction to produce high quality specialty chemicals and surfactants.
As an official supporter of USA Luge, Pilot Chemical will help generate awareness of the sport of luge, attracting thousands of new fans. Through its financial support, Pilot Chemical will assist athletes with their training and development expenses.
"We are pleased our support is beginning in time to be a benefit to the athletes and USA Luge organization as they train for the big race in Russia in 2014," said Pam Butcher, president and COO of Pilot Chemical Company. "We also hope that this relationship will provide an opportunity for our employees and their families to rally around and follow the luge team as they compete in national and international competitions."
