Green brand Ecover, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary, has unveiled its new packaging design, which it says merges ecofriendly formulas with fun, approachable packaging and light, fresh, naturally derived fragrances. In addition, the company says it has improved its products.
For example, the liquid laundry and dish products were enhanced with a better price point and improved efficacy, according to the company.
The updated products are available at Whole Foods Market now and will appear on shelves at other natural channel retailers throughout the Fall.
"We developed Ecover's new design and packaging to be friendly and modern and were inspired by the bright colors found in nature," said Sally Clarke, global creative drector of Method + Ecover. "We feel the new look will help Ecover reach more consumers and better illustrate our values, while continuing to be deeply rooted in nature-based science."
The new look features consumer-friendly symbols that allow shoppers to easily identify the product's key green benefits. An easy-to-read ingredient list also enables consumers to understand exactly what is in each product. The logo was softened, using lowercase letters and a heart-leaf flower to signal nature-based science. The bottles were redesigned to have a more ergonomic shape and they are transparent, so shoppers can see what's inside. Ecover's bottles are readily recyclable and made with Plantplastic®, Ecover's own blend of plant-sourced plastic made from sugarcane, and post-consumer recycled plastic.
