Shiseido Co., Ltd. has named Louis Desazars president and CEO of Shiseido Europe Region (Europe, Africa and Middle East), effective Sept. 1, 2015. Desazars has also been appointed as president and CEO of Beauté Prestige International S.A. (BPI), effective the same date.
Barbara Calcagni, senior vice president, global marketing of NARS, who has led the brand’s marketing efforts worldwide since 2008, will succeed Desazars as president of NARS Cosmetics.
In his new role, Desazars will spearhead an overall future vision and strategy for Shiseido in Europe, with the goals of achieving substantial brand growth in Shiseido’s prestige franchises and other areas where the Company competes and developing new markets in Africa and the Middle East. Desazars will report to Masahiko Uotani, president and CEO of Shiseido Co., Ltd.. He will relocate to Paris.
Concurrently, in his new role as president & CEO of Beauté Prestige International, Desazars will oversee the global strategy of the designer fragrance portfolio. His focus will be on continuing to expand and develop the business and brands under the BPI umbrella, across all regions.
