Antioxidant skin care brand Derma E, big at stores like Whole Foods, now has a 100% USDA Certified Organic Skin, Hair and Nail Oil that is also Non-GMO Project verified.
The Non-GMO Project offers North America’s only independent verification for products made according to rigorous best practices for GMO (genetically modified organisms) avoidance, according to the company. This relatively new science creates unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacteria and viral genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods. The Non-GMO Project verifies products in compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard, including ongoing testing of at-risk ingredients.
“derma e does not use GMO ingredients in formulating any of its natural skincare products, yet obtaining Non-GMO Project verification helps reinforce our commitment to ingredient transparency,” says Jennifer Norman, vice president of Marketing for derma e. “Additional derma e formulas are being vetted by the Non-GMO Project with the goal of achieving complete verification for our entire 90+ SKU product line.”
