The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) presented today its 2018 awards to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the continued success of the herbal products industry at Natural Products Expo West/ Engredea in Anaheim, CA. One of the honored organizations is the Good Agricultural and Collection Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices working group.
Naturex is a member of the Good Agricultural and Collection Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices working group, which was awarded the AHPA Herbal Hero award. The working group made outstanding contributions to AHPA initiatives by updating guidance and creating assessment tools that provide a framework for growers, harvesters, and processors. The goal is to ensure that herbal raw materials used in consumer products are accurately identified, not adulterated with contaminants that may present a health risk and fully conform to quality characteristics.
"Transparency in the supply chain is vital to guarantee the quality and purity of any botanical extract, and it is an issue that no dietary supplement company can choose to ignore. This is the reason why Naturex has volunteered to join and support the AHPA initiative, in order to raise the quality standard and to share good practices within the industry. On behalf of Naturex, I am honored to receive this recognition of our commitment to quality," said Guillaume Blin, North America regulatory affairs director, Naturex.
Naturex has developed a customer-centric concept called Source-Convert-Deliver. This program highlights Naturex's strong technical know-how in the key areas that matter most in today's nutrition industry: sustainable sourcing of ingredients with traceability and transparency, conversion of raw materials into identified botanical ingredients and delivery of innovative and science-based natural solutions to foster consumers' nutrition and health.
