BioMed Balance has recalled its Wintergreen and Birch Tar Essential Oils with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) due to failure to meet child resistant packaging requirements.
The products contain the substance methyl salicylate which must be in child resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The packaging of the products poses a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.
The essential oils were sold exclusively online at www.azurestandard.com from October 2019 through June 2020 for between $7 and $11.
Consumers should immediately store the product in a safe location out of reach of children and contact BioMed Balance for a full refund.
