Big news at indie fragrance brand DS & Durga is that its Pistachio Eau de Parfum is now a permanent part of the collection. It was a “studio juice” that had a limited-edition launch of 100 bottles for holiday and became a “cult classic,” according to DS & Durga co-founder and perfumer David Seth Moltz.
The husband-and-wife team (other half is Kavi Moltz) is based in New York and has a retail location on Mulberry Street in Soho. The brand is also sold at prestige retailers such as Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman.
In promotional news, the brand won Women's Media Campaign of the Year for 2022 from The Fragrance Foundation.
The founders of DS & Durga hosted a media event at The Beekman Hotel in New York City on Jan. 24 to showcase Pistachio and other fragrances that will be big for the brand in 2023.
According to Moltz: “I think pistachio is an elegant nut. Also a fun nut … We made this on a whim. It's a fragrance with no story that just evokes the fun of pistachio, especially as a dessert flavor. People went nuts for the concept (pun somewhat intended) and we knew we had to add it to the line. It’s dank and unabashedly sweet, which is something I don’t normally do.”

The fragrance notes in the Pistachio EDP include: top notes of pistachio and cardamom, a heart of more pistachio and roasted almond and a base of (surprise!) pistachio and vanilla crème.According to Moltz: “I think pistachio is an elegant nut.
