Ecolab Inc. has rolled out a new retail line—Ecolab Scientific Clean—in partnership with The Home Depot. This exclusive partnership marks the first of its kind in Ecolab's 100-year history.
The new Ecolab Scientific Clean product line offers cleaning solutions for commercial, industrial and residential use. Products, which are sold in stores and online, include degreasers, pressure wash concentrate, bathroom cleaners and floor cleaners and finishes.
"We're excited to welcome Ecolab, one of the most well-known and trusted brands in delivering high quality cleaning products in the industry, to The Home Depot and are proud to offer the latest in cleaning technology to both our pro and DIY customers," said Jeff Kinnaird, executive vice president of merchandising. "Having Ecolab Scientific Clean on our shelves not only enables our Pro customers to deliver a professional clean, but it allows our DIY customers to bring that cleaning power into their homes, as well."

In a survey of professional I&I end users recently completed by Kline & Co., 7.1% said they buying janitorial cleaning products from home improvement retailers. Among those that shop there, 54% are buying cleaning products in-store and 46% are buying from home improvement websites, according to Laura Mahecha, a Kline analyst with deep expertise in the jan/san and I&I industries.According to Mahecha, Ecolab is the leader in the jan/san industry, "with over 6.0% market share, second to Diversey."
