There is still time to register for HCPA’s mid-year meeting, which will be held May 7-10, 2024 at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.
The schedule of events is as follows:
Tuesday, May 7
Advocacy Day – HCPA’s Government Relations & Public Policy team will take members to Capitol Hill to meet with legislators about the industry’s priority issues. Interested participants are asked to email Mike Gruber.
Wednesday, May 8
Professional Development Session: Optimizing Your Thought Leadership on LinkedIn – Shana Glickfield from the Beekeeper Group will explain the benefits of regular posting on LinkedIn and some example content to make posting easy and impactful.
Regulatory Affairs Council Program – Jim Aidala, Shannen Coffin, and Alex Dunn will provide an overview of Chevron deference and the potential impact on the regulated industry in its absence.
Special Session with Dave Edwards – Dave Edwards will discuss various aspects of the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, better known as Prop 65.
Joint Federal & State Advisory Council Session – During this session, Dr. Michal Freedhoff, will provide updates on the Agency’s administration of TSCA and PRIA and offer valuable regulatory insight on issues important to the industry. Following that, Elizabeth Biser, will provide her perspective on PFAS policy, plastic pollution, and finding common ground between North Carolina’s Republican legislature and Democratic Executive Branch.
Thursday, May 9
Antimicrobial Products Division Meeting Regulatory Committee – During this session, Elizabeth Donovan, Anita Pease, and Kristen Willis will provide an update on the Division’s latest activities, including priorities and staffing updates.
Aerosol Education Session – Experts from the aerosol industry will share their knowledge about the aerosol delivery form, including how the technology works, the R&D process that scientists and engineers use to develop or revise products, the operations of how aerosols are manufactured, and the future of the industry.
Friday, May 10
Scientific Affairs Committee & Task Force – Lynn Bergeson and Richard Engler will discuss the reporting obligation for PFAS under TSCA and contextualize this “one and done” report within a broader framework of emerging international, federal, and state PFAS restrictions so that product stewards and regulatory managers are equipped to develop a comprehensive playbook for PFAS reporting obligations.
Lunch and Retail Special Session – Julie Froelicher, Susan Kirsch, and Dr. Steve Bennett will explore how the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), HCPA's Supplier Ingredient Review Work Group (SIRWG), and HCPA's Retail Engagement Work Group (REWG) work with retailers on behalf of companies that sell household and commercial products.
