Q-tips Brand

November 14, 2005

To celebrate “80 years of versatility,” the Q-tips brand is sharing its many uses at www.qtips.com. The swabs, introduced in 1923 for personal care, are now being used for hobbies, craft projects and cleaning hard-to-reach places around the home, Unilever executives insisted.
“During the past 80 years, Americans have discovered more uses for Q-tips cotton swabs in and out of the home than we could have ever imagined,” said Joan Capaldi, brand manager, Unilever. “Today, Q-tips are not only found in the bathroom, but also in makeup bags, arts and crafts kits and even home toolboxes.”
Visitors to the website www.qtips.com can view a complete list of uses and submit their own favorites. A brochure is also accessible, detailing innovative uses.
