Avon Products, Inc.: appointed José Vicente Marino as executive vice president and general manager, Brazil. He will be responsible for accelerating growth in Brazil, Avon’s largest business, reporting to chief executive officer Jan Zijderveld.
Marino is a seasoned executive with extensive general manager, direct selling, consumer and strategic planning experience within global organizations. He has held executive positions at Natura & Co., latterly as chief operating officer and a member of the executive committee, where he led the multi-channel and multi-brand strategy, and the entire sales team, having been promoted successively from brands and business VP and marketing and sales VP.
Most recently, he was president at Flora Cosméticos e Limpeza, a leading beauty and hygiene products company owned by JBS Group, where he led sales growth of more than 15% during his time in the business. Marino has significant experience at global consumer packaged goods companies, including Johnson & Johnson where he was a commercial director, VP of customer development LatAm and president of its Brazil operations. He started his career as a marketing manager and national manager for key accounts at BestFoods, which was acquired by Unilever PLC.
Marco Brandolini has been appointed VP and GM, Italy and the Mediterranean (IMED). He spent 13 years at Herbalife Nutrition, where he most recently served as EMEA VP-sales and marketing, member services and technology. According to Avon Products, he has a proven track record of turning around sales performance and delivering growth (accelerating to 7.5% year on- year in Q1 2018), through multi-channels, while increasing distributor retention through strong customer service. Also, Brandolini was responsible for designing the regional marketing and strategy planning and maintaining relationships with key distributors. He successfully led Herbalife’s key premium products and marketing tools launch, leveraging consumer and market research and activated the company’s distributors’ technology platform, all of which contributed to a more profitable business and a wider adoption of Herbalife products.
Avon Products, Inc. also tapped Anna Chokina to serve as vice president, global brand marketing, skin care and personal care. She will drive growth and brings deep brand marketing and beauty experience with a background of an international career. Chokina joins Avon from L’Oréal Paris, where as general manager, Russia, she led the business to consecutive years of growth. She also oversaw successful brand strategy development and played a central role in making L’Oréal Paris the number one digital beauty brand in Russia. In addition, she also worked for Procter & Gamble and PepsiCo.
Finally, Elena Degtyareva, currently vice president, global marketing operations, will assume the position of VP-global fashion and home at Avon Products.
