CANADA: L’Oréal’s Canadian head office is celebrating its 60th anniversary and has inaugurated its completely redesigned and renovated 117,000 sq. ft. office in Montréal. L’Oréal Group opened its subsidiary in Canada in 1958. Today, L’Oréal Canada, with its four divisions, 39 brands, and sales of nearly $1.2 billion in 2017, has more than 1,300 employees, a head office in downtown Montréal and a distribution center and manufacturing plant in Ville Saint-Laurent. The Canadian factory specializes in the production of professional hair coloring products as well as hair care and hair styling products. More than 215 million units will be produced in 2018 with the most stringent requirements in terms of safety and quality. L’Oréal Canada exports nearly 94% of these units to the US.
The 117,000-sq ft building has undergone major renovations. The new space offers 656 open-plan workstations on two floors. It also houses hairdressing academy, technical center, content factory, an employees’ cosmetic boutique, training facilities for point-of-sale employees, a coffee bar, library and graphics studio.
