NJBIZ as named IT Cosmetics (Innovative Technology Cosmetics) co-founder and CEO Jamie Kern Lima as the recipient of the 2014 Best Women in Business Award, an honor that recognizes New Jersey's most vigorous and influential women in business that have been making headlines in their field and shaping the economic future of New Jersey.
Prior to launching IT Cosmetics in 2008, Kern Lima spent several years as an award winning TV news anchor, where having to look awake and perky for the 5 am news and her firsthand experience with problematic skin fueled her to help women be more confident by creating problem-solving products to enhance natural beauty instead of concealing it.
Kern Lima was also recently named as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneurial Winning Woman of 2013. Growing from a three person startup company in 2008 to now over 45 full time and 100+ freelance employees, IT Cosmetics is now a top selling beauty brand on QVC, in Ulta Beauty stores nationwide, on The Shopping Channel Canada and others, and recently partnered with Guthy-Renker to develop an infomercial set to launch later in 2014.
With more than $75 million in retail sales in 2013 and several new product launches slated for 2014, IT Cosmetics is on track for continued development and expects to continue double-digit growth into the coming year, according to the company.
