The Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA) is expanding its Government Relations and Public Policy team to strengthen its advocacy efforts in an increasingly challenging legislative and regulatory environment at all levels of government.
Owen Caine, currently director of state government relations at the Toy Association, will join CSPA on June 5 as executive vice president of government relations and public policy. Caine will report to CSPA President & CEO Steve Caldeira. He formerly worked for CSPA from 2013-2016 and returns after helping to expand the state government relations efforts for the Toy Association. He has extensive Capitol Hill experience having worked as a former legislative aide to both the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
CSPA is promoting Kristin Power, currently vice president, State Affairs, to senior vice president of State Government Relations and Public Policy. Since 2010, Power has played a key and increasingly integral role in driving CSPA’s state government relations and public policy strategy focused on California and the western United States.
Also being promoted is Pete Vujovich, currently manager, State Affairs, to Director, State Government Relations and Public Policy. He is responsible for all state government relations and public policy for the eastern United States. Since joining CSPA in March of 2016, Vujovich has demonstrated a unique grasp of member company issues and has become a respected go-to source on multiple issues.
Kevin Serafino will join CSPA as director, Government Relations & Public Policy where he will primarily focus on state government relations, while also supporting federal and regulatory efforts. He was previously Senior Manager, Government Relations and Public Policy at the International Franchise Association (IFA). Serafino’s vast experience includes effectively lobbying at the federal and state levels, engaging with federal and state agencies, developing grassroots advocacy initiatives, and crafting communications content to mobilize supporters to political action. He also managed all aspects of IFA’s nearly $1.3 million political action committee, including FEC compliance.
Additionally, CSPA is promoting Tim Brown, currently Regulatory Counsel and Director of International Affairs, to Vice President, Regulatory Counsel and International Affairs, where he will assume the division staff executive position for the Antimicrobial Products Division, as well as continuing his support of the association’s Cleaning Products Division and his international responsibilities.
