Dr. Muhammed Majeed, founder and chairman, Sami-Sabinsa Group has been honored with a lifetime achievement award in recognition of his exemplary services in the nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals industry by ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India).
ASSOCHAM is a 99-year old organization of over 400 Chambers of Commerce and Trade Associations serving more than 450,000 members across India. The organization represents the interests of trade and commerce in India, and acts as an interface between issues and initiatives.
The award was presented as part of Ayush Mela, one of India’s largest exhibition and conference events related to Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH).
ASSOCHAM received more than 150 nominations across 34 categories of awards covering various fields of AYUSH, out of which 75 nominations were short listed across different categories. The awardees were selected by a jury of prominent people affiliated with the AYUSH fields.
“I am honored to receive this lifetime achievement award from ASSOCHAM,” commented Majeed. “This recognition that my life’s work facilitating research to support and improve human health, ensuring that sourcing for raw materials benefits the small farmers and their communities, and discovering ways to benefit humanity by building upon ancient knowledge is deeply meaningful.”
