The Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Market is expected to grow $15.4 billion by 2028.
The growth represents a CAGR of 23.2% this year – a trend that is expected to continue in the next seven years, according to a report published by Research and Markets. In terms of volume, the robotic vacuum cleaner market is projected to reach 60.9 million units in the next six years, with a CAGR of 17.7% from 2021 to 2028.
The popularity of these robotic cleaners, some of which are self-drive or remote-controlled and can clean, mop or do both, is attributed to intelligent and connected vacuum cleaners offering voice control and smart navigation features. Artificial Intelligence (AI) features and smart navigation to avoid running into walls and better floor cleaning abilities are being implemented in the new robot vacuums to meet the evolving needs of the consumer.
Supporting the growth of the robotic vacuum cleaners market is the increasing adoption of smart household appliances for performing household chores and busy consumer lifestyles. What's more, the COVID-19 pandemic has opened new doors for industry players. iRobot Corporation, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., LG Electronics Inc., Panasonic Corporation and Sharp Corporation saw a boost in sales of robotic vacuums since the second quarter of 2020 given the need for increased cleanliness and hygiene in homes and commercial spaces, such as restaurants and doctor’s offices, to contain the spread of the potentially deadly virus that has to date sickened 204 million people and claimed 4.3 million lives worldwide.
The cleaning robots are estimated to account for the largest share in 2021 given their affordability. The residential segment of the robotic vacuum cleaners is estimated to account for the largest share of the market this year due to the increased adoption of robotic and normal vacuum cleaners in homes and costly house helpers in North America and Europe.
