Heyday, a fast-growing skincare services brand on a mission to provide expert skincare that empowers everyone to be their best self, has appointed Andy Taylor to chief executive officer.
Taylor succeeds co-founder Adam Ross, who led an extensive search over the past year as Heyday continues to scale in partnership with the board.
Taylor will partner with the board, the executive leadership team and Heyday’s community to further advance its mission of freeing the facial from the spa by shepherding the brand’s next phase of retail and franchise development.
“I am honored and excited to join the Heyday team and further shepherd the brand’s franchise development strategy,” said Taylor. “Michael and Adam have built an incredibly strong and successful brand over the past 8 years and have cemented the brand’s position as the leader in the skincare services sector. I look forward to partnering with Adam, Michael, and the Board as we design and usher in Heyday’s exciting next growth phase.”
Taylor is an experienced leader and CEO with a proven track record for building profitable and sustainable businesses and successfully working within different markets, environments and cultures. He joins Heyday after most recently serving as CEO at Levain, where he oversaw significant shop, product, and brand expansion over the past five years, bringing the business from a popular local bakery with just three locations in New York to a thriving national brand with 13 locations in key markets across the country.
Prior to his role at Levain, Taylor served as CEO for Ando, a leading tech-driven startup that was sold to Uber Eats, and also as CEO for Hale and Hearty Soups in New York. Earlier in his career, Taylor worked with Pret a Manger’s UK team as Head of Strategy and Business Planning before he was brought to the US as their chief financial officer and then chief operating officer.
Co-founders Adam Ross and Michael Pollak will maintain active roles as board members, working alongside Taylor to drive retail growth, innovation, product development and more. Since Heyday’s inception in 2015, the brand has performed over 750,000 facials within their 10-plus existing owned and operated shop locations throughout New York City, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
In 2023, Heyday will open over 20 additional shop locations, with a total of 135 committed franchise units on the horizon in major markets including Denver, Boston, Austin and Phoenix, among others.
