Skincare brand Dr. Barbara Sturm is mulling a sale. According to sources, the company has hired investment bank RBC to evaluate potential deals. Sturm, an aesthetics doctor with a background in sports training, launched her eponymous brand, Dr. Barbara Sturm Molecular Cosmetics in 2014. Just two years later, she teamed with actress Angela Bassett to introduce Darker Skin Tones by Dr. Barbara Sturm.
Earlier this year, Oprah Winfrey invested an undisclosed amount in the company. Most recently, the brand opened two spas in New York City, one uptown on Madison Avenue and the other downtown in SoHo.
But whether uptown, downtown or any town, the skincare products can be found on Amazon, and in Nordstrom, Sephora and other stores. Best-selling formulas include Enzyme Cleanser ($75), Face Cream ($75) and Hyaluronic Serum ($110).
