After spending years on the road and recognizing the importance of a skincare regimen, Saccomanno partnered with fellow entrepreneur Jas Mathur to create a skincare line.
With the help of Mathur (chairman and CEO of Limitless X Holdings), Amarose Beauty launched in 2021. The line includes skincare essentials like cleanser, moisturizer and eye gel as well as skin tag remover.
HAPPI: What prompted Amarose Beauty?
Saccomanno: I was traveling on the road for eight years, and that schedule is pretty demanding. You’re away from your home, sometimes you sacrifice things, like your health, and, unfortunately, your skincare. I wanted to make sure I stayed on top of it as much as my demanding and busy schedule allowed.
When I met Jas Mathur, who is my partner at Amarose, he always wanted to create a skincare line and I always wanted to create a skincare line—so there’s common ground there. He has a lot more experience in the e-commerce world. He already has a bunch of brands. So, it was a great combination, for me being the face, and with my following and all the people that I’m around in WWE and fitness… it definitely was something that I always been inspired to do.
I’m huge on self-care, a big advocate. Not just being in WWE, but my whole lifestyle has always been about taking care of my body—not only the physical aspect of it, but mentally. I’ve been a huge advocate about that because I feel like if you don’t have self-care, how are you going to care for others? If you’re not happy with yourself, how are you going to be happy with anyone else?
HAPPI: What was your first brush with a skincare routine?
Saccomanno: I grew up with three older brothers, they were pretty harsh, and I was a bit of a tomboy. So, when I started to get into the beauty side of things, the more feminine things, I did it alone in my room because I was always with a bunch of boys. But my mom was always involved in beauty and skincare. She worked retail for years for Clinique and Estée Lauder.
I was probably 13 where I started to use skincare. I was using all random things though. I honestly didn’t have a great routine until Amarose. I don’t know if it was just something that I couldn’t give time to—like really focusing on what works best with my skin…but I think I was just always trying different things. My mom would bring home so many samples, I would always try different products. It was kind of all over the place.
I’ve really focused on such a strict routine and regimen for a few years now, and I’ve noticed such a difference in my skin because of that consistency and using the same products that I know work for me.
