Coty Inc., a leading multi-brand manufacturer and marketer of personal fragrance, today announced a non-exclusive agreement with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Johnson Space Center (NASA JSC). Coty will work specifically with scientists at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Texas. The agreement serves as the legal mechanism through which Coty and NASA JSC will collaborate to advance technology in personal care products.
In particular, Coty Inc. and NASA JSC will study the adaptability of current personal care products in a zero-gravity environment and will share the data resulting from testing. This agreement in no way creates an exclusive relationship between Coty Inc. and NASA, nor does it imply NASA's endorsement of Coty Inc. or its products.
Coty's efforts are being led by Coty Ideas+Image, the company's global creative services department. Douglas Toews, executive vice president, Ideas+Image, and Raymond Nadeau, vice president, New Ideas, will oversee the development of the project.
Arthur Gallego, Coty Inc.'s communications director, noted: "We're excited to be working with NASA JSC. The project with NASA JSC is in its preliminary stages and a precise development timeline has not been established. Traditional product launches require 12-18 months from ideation and development to full production.''
