Ecolab Inc. has been named “The Best Enterprise in Leading Sustainability Efforts in China” at the 2010 China Economic Summit Forum during an award ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, China.
The forum and the award ceremony, held Jan. 15., were organized by China Economic Information Journal. Winners were nominated by government authorities, economists and journalists, and were selected through a comprehensive evaluation process, including surveys, interviews and expert committee assessments.
In prepared remarks delivered at the ceremony, Sam Hsu, Ecolab senior vice president and general manager of Greater China, said, “Sustainability is an important and continuing market trend. Corporations must take sustainability seriously to not only deliver on their corporate social responsibilities but also to proactively create shared value that enhances the competitiveness of a company while simultaneously advancing the economic and social value to the communities in which the company operates.”
