The California Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists will meet Feb. 25 at the Warner Center Marriott Hotel in Woodland Hills, CA.
The dinner hour (6:30pm) speaker is Michael Green, executive direct of the Center for Environmental Health, who will discuss, “Not Just Cosmetic Solutions: Green Chemistry for Safer Products.” Green will explain what the Green Chemistry Initiative (GCI) requires, what an alternatives assessment is, and how alternatives assessments are being used by businesses to improve their products.
The education hour (5pm) speaker is Anthony L. Almada, who will discuss “Acne Inside & Out: Gut Feelings, Lactating Guernseys, and Goose Pimples." The discussion will cover what is emerging is a new generation of clinical investigations, highlighting a variety of novel oral and topical agents and interventions that may modify the presentation and course of acne, and possibly mitigate acne drug-mediated side effects like retinoid dermatitis.
