It reads like a list of long-time, fast-moving consumer goods brands—Wella, Hugo Boss and even Ivory. Procter & Gamble is ready to make good on its promise to concentrate on core brands and the three above, and many more, just don't make the cut. Earlier this month P&G sent sale documents to potential bidders for its Wella haircare unit along with cosmetics brands and its fragrance business, according to Bloomberg. Sources say the sale, in total could fetch $19 billion. The goal is to exit 100 brands by the end of Summer 2015. The new, leaner P&G would consist of 65 brands in 10 categories.
Potentional buyers include Coty, Henkel, Kao, Revlon and Unilever.
