Basim Shami, CEO and president of Farouk Systems USA, reports that his company has entered into a newly formed business relationship with WME|IMG for the upcoming 64th Annual Miss Universe Pageant, which will air live on Fox on Dec. 20.
Earlier this year, Farouk withdrew its sponsorship of the Miss USA, Miss Universe, and Miss Teen USA Pageants following coments Donald Trump made about immigrants. WME|IMG fully acquired the Miss Universe Organization, as well as Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, from Donald Trump in September.
“With the recent WME | IMG acquisition, I felt it was important for Farouk Systems to revisit our sponsorship as well as our continuing commitment to supporting these young women from around the world,” said Shami. “These global contestants have truly demonstrated a strong passion toward being role models for other young women, helping in their communities, raising monies for charities, and starting foundations while striving for their own personal excellence. This positive messaging is something Farouk Systems believes in. They have all worked so hard to accomplish their goals, which is something the world needs more than ever. Our mission has and will be to help them achieve their dreams and be there to support them through the process.”
Farouk Systems is sending its team of hairstylists to help the contestants with their preliminary competitions, dress rehearsals and the live broadcasts. They will provide each girl with full service hair care and products from the CHI Haircare Line.
Farouk Systems’ collaboration with WME | IMG, which fully acquired The Miss Universe Organization, will bring additional opportunities for these young women to live out their dreams and aspirations to become role models, spokespersons and community leaders, according to the company.
