JAPAN: The concept of preventive dentistry has begun to receive more attention, according to Lion, which plans to re-release its Clinica oral care brand as series of products recommended by dental care specialists.
According to Lion, the number of consumers who visit dental clinics for regular checkups is gradually increasing in Japan. In fact, a Lion survey found that among women in their 30s, those who had regular checkups increased from 28% in 2009 to 44% in 2012. Going forward, awareness of the value of preventive dentistry is expected to continue to grow.
The Clinica series includes toothpaste, toothbrushes, sponge floss, Y-type dental floss and a rinse.
