The beauty look this season at Vera Wang is inspired by stone angels found in old-world cathedrals, according to Lucia Pieroni, makeup creative director for Clé de Peau Beauté, in regards to the runway looks for the designer at Fall 2012 New York Fashion Week. “The overall look is sculpted and a bit intimidating, yet still radiates a beautiful softness.”
Pieroni applied Refining Fluid Foundation SPF 24 ($120) to ensure a dewy and radiant look for the face. She then covered any imperfections with Concealer ($70) for a flawless finish. She dusted new Luminizing Face Enhancer in 12/Gold ($95) over the cheekbones and around the temples for an angelic, glowing veil of light.
Brows were boldly enhanced with new Eyebrow Pencil ($60, available in September 2012) for an exaggerated result.“The brow lines extend toward the temple to give off the effect that they are looking down at us from above, the way gothic gargoyles do,” said Pieroni.
To achieve a rusty, smoky eye, Lucia applied new Satin Eye Color ($45) in 118, a muted pewter with gold undertones across the entire eyelid and then applied 116, a warm burgundy along the lash lines (both available September 2012).
To give lips a hint of luster, Lucia applied new Enriched Lip Luminizer in 201/Sweet Lychee ($60) with a brush for a touch of light pink color.
The Clé de Peau Beauté collection is available at Bergdorf Goodman and
select Barneys, Neiman Marcus and Saks locations nationwide.
