October 15 is Global Handwashing Day, a global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives. According to sources at Dial, GHD allows Dial to support a great cause while reinforcing Dial’s heritage as the first and leading antibacterial liquid hand soap brand. In countries such as the United States, we are trained to wash our hands with soap frequently and at critical times. This is not the case in parts of the developing world, where adopting proper handwashing habits could significantly reduce preventable illness and even death.
Dial is supporting GHD for the second year with a robust support plan. Through social media, a Sunday newspaper insert, and a blogger network, Dial is communicating its partnership with GHD encouraging engagement. For every person that signs up for Dial’s new Rewards program and enters a code, Dial will donate $1 to a global children’s charity focused on handwashing education.
Last year’s campaign delivered the following results: $50,000 donation to global children’s charity, social media campaign that delivered over 1.7 million impressions and social couponing program with 50,000 coupons redeemable on Dial Complete. Dial’s 2015 campaign is even bigger and better, according to the company.
