L'Oréal’s newest startup Color&Co, a leader in at-home personalized hair color, unveiled a new feature on September 15—a complimentary, virtual color try on, powered by Modiface. The feature is called “See Yourself in Color” and is available on www.colorandco.com.
Here is a quick rundown of how it works:
While virtual try on is available from similar brands, Color&Co’s offering is backed by a dedicated team of professional colorists: the Collective.
After the virtual try on, consumers can complete a complementary video consultation offered by the Collective or take an online quiz, with feedback from the try on helping to guide the process. Consumers are then given a second chance to virtually try on the newly-created shade, to ensure complete customer satisfaction. If the shade is not right, the Collective creates an alternative—the ultimate try before you buy.
Here is a quick rundown of how it works:
- Consumers select from different shade families as standard as brown and as wild as pastels.
- Consumers access an image or participate live through a phone or computer camera.
- The app provides a virtual before and after of the desired shade, with both images shown side by side.
- Whether the consumer wants to actually go through with the color change or not, the side by side image is available for a share on social media platforms.
