US Patent No. 9,713,587 B2; P&G has patented a skin smoothing composition that contains an interpenetrating polymer comprising a co-polymer of polyurethane and a polyacrylic polymer; a thickener comprising homopolymers of acrylic acid crosslinked with a cross linker selected from the group consisting of an allyl ether pentaerythritol, allyl ether of sucrose, allyl ether of propylene and mixtures thereof; and water. The composition is in the form of a water gel or oil-in-water emulsion at a pH of 5.2.
Nail Coatings with Enhanced Adhesion
US Patent No. 9,713,585 B2; Creative Nail Design Inc., Vista, CA, has patented a method of improving adhesion of a nail coating. It entails providing a nail coating composition comprising at least one reactive monomer, oligomer or polymer selected from the group consisting of reactive (meth)acrylates and mixture thereof and adding at least one polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane to the nail coating composition. The polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane has the formula (C6H11O2)n(SiO1.5)n, where n is 8, 10, or 12, and wherein (C6H11O2) represents:
Colgate Oral Care Composition
US Patent No. 9,713,586 B2; Colgate-Palmolive has patented an oral care composition (toothpaste, gel, mouthwash or mouth rinse) that contains diluted sodium calcium alginate gel, wherein the weight ratio of sodium to calcium in the diluted gel is from 80:20 to 86:14, and wherein the diluted sodium calcium alginate gel is present in the composition in an amount of about 0.17 wt. %, based on the total weight of the oral care composition. It also contains water.
Magnetic Powder for Cosmetic Agent
US Patent No. 9,713,581 B2; MTG Co., Ltd., Nagoya-shi, Japan, has been awarded a US patent for a magnetic powder comprised of a granulated powder of ferromagnetic ferrite, a content of particles with a particle diameter of less than 37 μm of 15% by mass or less; a content of particles with a particle diameter of 105 μm or more of 5% by mass or less; a saturation magnetization of 80 Am2/kg or more; a transmittance of 90% or more at a wavelength of 474 nm of a supernatant liquid obtained by dispersing the magnetic powder in methanol; an apparent density of 1.95 to 2.65 g/cm3; and a specific surface area of 200 to 450 cm2/g as measured using an air permeability method.
Nitrocellulose-Free Nail Polish
US Patent No. 9,713,588 B2; LOréal, Paris, has patented a nail polish composition that is comprised of at least one high gloss film forming agent which is a styrene maleic anhydride copolymer; at least one co-film forming agent which is an epoxy resin; at least one reactive agent which is a polyalkyleneamine; and at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of a volatile solvent, water, and mixtures thereof. The composition does not require use of nitrocellulose.
