City of Hope’s National Professional Salon Industry has named Joico Senior Vice President and General Manager Sara Jones as the recipient of the 2011 Spirit of Life Award.
A longtime supporter of City of Hope and of issues relating to salon professionals and their clients, Jones has taken advantage of her role as a corporate leader to generate awareness and funds for a variety of causes, such as breast cancer, both within the Joico family and within the larger sphere of the beauty industry. She announced that proceeds from the Spirit of Life Award Dinner in 2011 will be earmarked for women’s cancer research and care.
Jones joined Joico in 2005 and oversees the company’s Joico and ISO brands. Since earning her cosmetologist license in 1980, she has held a variety of important leadership positions in marketing, sales and education for several professional product manufacturers before taking on her current position.
City of Hope is a leading research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. The organization’s Professional Salon Industry Division was established in 1981 with the purpose of establish a continuous flow of industry support for the City of Hope. It is an annual tradition to honor outstanding leaders in the industry for their contributions both in business and through philanthropy in the community, with the Spirit of Life Award. Since its inception, this division has raised millions of dollars for City of Hope’s research and treatment programs.
