Class of 1987 rejoice; the mullet is making a comeback! The party-in-the-back-business-in-the-front style tops the list of the “most popular” hairstyles of 2021, according to Cosmetify new 2021 Hair Report.
In the report, the mullet was labeled as the the most popular hairstyle in the past year, with more than 15.5 million searches, which is a 142% increase from the previous year.

The top five styles with the biggest search increases were: curtain bang, the new pixie, layered locks, modern mullet and middle parting.
Cosmetify also noted the top five hottest hair care brands:

Olaplex had almost 5,000 more hashtags than its nearest rival, said Cosmetify, which also revealed three rising stars of hair care: Curlsmith, Bleach London and Bondi Boost.
The brand that saw the most growth last year—with 298% more searches—was Curlsmith. The most followed on social is Sugar Bear Hair and; the most tagged was Olaplex and the brand with the best engagement rate is As I Am, according to Cosmetify.
