CUBA: Unilever has been given the green light by the Cuban government to form a joint venture with state firm Intersuchel S.A. The new entity, Unilever Suchel S.A, will sell home and personal care products in the country.
Unilever Suchel S.A. will operate in the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM). The firms are expected to construct a plant in the ZEMD with production expected to begin in late 2017.
Products that will be sold in the country include Rexona, Lux, Sedal, OMO and Close-Up, according to the companies.
Unilever will invest approximately $35 million in the joint venture, which will also handle marketing and distribution.
