US Patent No. 9,381,142 B2; The Monell Chemical Senses Center, Philadelphia, PA and Symrise Inc. have been awarded a patent for a deodorant composition comprising a mixture of agents that block and/or reduce the perception of malodors. The mixture consists of: agrumex (2-tert-butylcyclohexyl acetate); γ-undecalactone; cedryl methyl ether; 2,4,4,7-tetramethyl-oct-6-en-3-one; eugenol (2-methoxy-1-hydroxy-4-allylbenzene); ∆-damascone (1-(2,6,6-trimethyl-3-cyclohexen-1-yl)-2-buten-1-one); dihydromyrcenol (2,6-dimethyl-7-octen-2-ol); dynascone 10 (1-(5,5-dimethyl-1-cyclohexen-1-yl)-4-penten-1-one); oxacyclohexadecen-2-one; cis-3-hexenol (cis-3-hexen-1-ol); hexylcinnamic aldehyde (alpha-hexylcinnamaldehyde); isoananat (acetic acid, (cyclohexyloxy)-, 2-propenyl-ester); menthyl acetate rf (4-menth-3-yl acetate); oryclone special (4-tertbutylcyclohexyl acetate); phenylethyl alcohol (2-phenylethyl alcohol); 2-methyl-5-phenylpentan-1-ol; 2-ethyl-4-(2,2,3-trimethyl-3-cyclopenten-1-yl)-2-buten-1-ol; tetrahydro linalool (3,7-dimethyloctan-3-ol); and vertocitral (2,4-dimethyl-3-cyclohexene-1-carboxaldehyde).
